For this purpose, you can use store-bought cleaners or prepare a cleaning solution at home.

Materials and Supplies You Need

  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • 3 or 4 lemons
  • Some clean pieces of clothes
  • Spray bottle
  • Store-bought cleaner

How to Clean Oven with a Cleaning Solution

This is the easiest and fastest process that will remove heavy duty build-up. So, inspect the oven and remove large pieces of food stuck inside. Now spray the cleaner of your choice and let it stay for over a half-hour. Once the cleaner loosens grime, you can wipe it clean.

Clean the Oven with Baking Soda

When it comes to household cleaning, baking soda is a star product. To clean the oven with baking soda, you need to prepare a liquid paste. So, mix half a cup of baking soda with an equal amount of water.

Use a brush or kitchen scouring pad to distribute this paste throughout the oven. Try to leave a thin layer of the mixture on the entire surface. Also, set it aside for 12 hours or overnight.

Now, prepare a solution by adding 3 cups of white vinegar to a cup of water. Add baking soda mixture and transfer the solution to a spray bottle. Spray the entire oven. The chemical reaction between vinegar and baking soda will produce a light foam. You can clean it with a wet cloth.

It is important to clean the oven with extra care. First, remove the fat and then clean it again with a damp cloth. Else, you may notice white marks when you turn on the oven. If the oven is too dirty, it may take longer to scrub fat.

Clean Oven with Lemon

Lemon has antiseptic and antibacterial properties. So, it’s effective in cleaning your oven.

Squeeze 3 or 4 lemons. And transfer the juice to an oven-safe dish with the squeezed lemon halves inside. Turn on the oven and set the temperature at 400 °F. Leave it inside for 30 minutes or until the juice evaporates.

You can now turn off the oven and let it warm for a few minutes. Now, take a damp cloth and remove the loose fat. If the oven has a lot of grease, then lemon may be less effective than baking soda.
